Perla Barragan,
Associate Clinical Social Worker


Perla graduated from California State University, San Marcos and double majored with a Bachelors

in Sociology and Women Studies. She also obtained a minor in Ethnic Studies. Two years after

graduation she returned to California State University, San Marcos and pursed her Masters in

Social Work.


Perla has ample experience in multiple therapeutic settings. She has prior experience with grief and complicated

bereavement through hospice work.  Perla previously worked at Roosevelt Middle School and Rancho Buena High School as a Migrant Education Social Worker to provide students and their families with resources regarding long-term success in the educational system, communication building, and basic needs obtainment. Perla has experience in the medical field, providing psychotherapy and case management. She also volunteered at the Women’s Resource Center, and she was part of the on-call Sexual Assault Response Team where she provided immediate 1:1 emotional support, resource development, and advocacy for individuals who experienced sexual assault. 


Perla has a passion for working with individuals who are experiencing depression and anxiety.  She provides in office counseling in San Marcos and telehealth counseling throughout California with children, adolescents, and adults, and individuals of all ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds. Perla’s goal is to provide support in a nonjudgmental approach, techniques to apply in order to reduce undesirable symptoms, links to community resources, and education.

Perla is bilingual and able to provide therapy sessions in both English and Spanish.
