With more than two decades of clinical experience, Randy is dedicated to helping

individuals, couples, families, and veterans navigate life’s challenges with greater

clarity, resilience, and support. As a California Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist

since 2004, he brings a compassionate, steady presence to therapy while drawing from

extensive experience working with diverse populations and complex mental health concerns.

Randy offers in-person therapy in San Marcos, California, as well as secure virtual therapy for clients throughout California. His approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that every person has the capacity to grow, heal, and build a more fulfilling life with the right support.

​

Randy holds a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy from National University. He also earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Criminal Justice from the University of Maryland, graduating Summa Cum Laude with Honors, as well as an Associate of Arts in Education from Tidewater Community College.

Over the past 21 years, Randy has served as a Readjustment Counseling Therapist at the San Marcos Vet Center, where he has worked extensively with military service members, veterans, and their families. Through this role, he has helped clients process trauma, adjust to life transitions, and develop practical tools to manage the emotional and relational challenges that often accompany military service.

​

His clinical work includes the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of a wide range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, dual diagnosis, anger and stress management, domestic violence, and family or career transitions. He also has significant experience supporting clients with parenting challenges, family conflict, and relationship difficulties.

​

Because of his own background in the military, Randy has a deep understanding of the unique experiences and pressures faced by service members and veterans. Before beginning his clinical career, he served four years in the United States Marine Corps, where he worked as an Instructor and Supervisor responsible for training and overseeing more than 3,200 personnel in Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical Warfare Defense. This experience continues to shape his respectful, grounded approach to working with military and veteran communities.

In addition to his work at the Vet Center, Randy has held several clinical counseling roles across San Diego County. His professional experience includes providing individual, group, and family therapy in day treatment facilities, substance abuse and recovery settings, facilitating counseling programs for at-risk youth and families through the Probation services, and serving as a Family Advocacy Program Specialist at the Navy Family Service Center. In that role, he coordinated programs focused on anger management, positive parenting, and helping military families navigate the challenges of transition and adjustment.

Today, his work focuses on helping clients develop healthier coping strategies, strengthen relationships, and move forward with confidence and purpose. Whether someone is navigating stress, trauma, family conflict, or a major life transition, he strives to create a safe, respectful space where meaningful change can happen.

​
